The Triumphant Entry: March 2, 2025

Okay, so picture this: a huge crowd, lots of excitement, and Jesus riding into town on a donkey. Sounds like a party, right? Well, this past Sunday, we dug into Luke 19 and found out it's way more than just a parade!

Our pastor took us on a journey through Jesus' "Triumphal Entry" into Jerusalem, and honestly, it got me thinking. We all know the story, right? Palms waving, people cheering... but there's a whole lot more happening under the surface.

A King on a Donkey? Wait, What?

First off, can we talk about the donkey? Everyone expected a powerful king on a warhorse, but Jesus rolls in on a humble donkey. It's like, "Hey, I'm here for peace, not a fight!" How cool is that? It reminded me that Jesus isn't about showing off; he's about showing love.

Tears and Tough Love

Then, things got a little emotional. Jesus starts crying – like, really crying – over the city. He knew what was coming, and it broke his heart. It's wild to think that even in the middle of this big celebration, Jesus was thinking about everyone and how much he cared.

It's like when you see a friend making a bad choice, and you know it's going to hurt them later. That's how Jesus felt. He wanted them to have peace, but they just couldn't see it.

Cleaning House (Literally!)

And then, BAM! Jesus marches into the temple and starts cleaning house! He was like, "This isn't a marketplace; it's a place to talk to God!" It was a powerful reminder that God's house is special, and we should treat it that way.

What Does This Mean For Us?

So, what did I take away from all this?

  • Jesus is a King of Peace: He's not here to boss us around; he's here to bring us peace and show us love.

  • He cares about us, like, really cares: Even when we mess up, he loves us and wants what's best for us.

  • He wants us to know him for who he is: Not just how we want him to be.

It made me think about how I sometimes try to fit Jesus into my own little box. But he's so much bigger than that! He's the real deal, and he wants a real relationship with us.

Let's Chat!

Have you ever felt like you were trying to fit Jesus into a box? Or maybe you've experienced his peace in a tough situation? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Whether you're new to church or you've been going for years, let's remember that Jesus is our King, and he loves us just as we are.

Hope you have an awesome week!
